If you’ve followed my blog for a while or poked around on my website, you probably know I write under two names — Kellie M. Parker (this website) for my YA spec fiction and thrillers, and Kellie VanHorn for my Christian romantic suspense books.
Deciding to go with two pen names was a tough call, as it means more work maintaining separate websites and social media accounts. Early on, I tried to follow the commonly-given advice to stick with one brand (read more about that here), but since then I’ve decided my genres and audiences are distinct enough it’d be smarter to separate them. I’ve encountered a number of authors (particularly romance writers) who do the same thing, though we’d probably all agree it’s not the easiest route to take.
In my effort to simplify, I maintain this one blog, one Twitter account, one Instagram, and two separate Facebook author pages (but I don’t spend much time on Facebook). Since my other author website doesn’t have a blog, I thought I’d share some exciting news about my romantic suspense books here!
Today is the official release day for my second Love Inspired Suspense book, Buried Evidence. Whoop! *throws confetti* My first book, Fatal Flashback, came out in December of 2019, and I found the book launch to be much more stressful than I’d expected. The timing, right before Christmas, probably had something to do with it. 😉 Plus, first book and all…
But this time around I’m a little more prepared, and I’m ready to spend the day chilling by the pool and savoring the sense of accomplishment. I’ll also be popping into Erin Craig’s book birthday party tonight for her new release Small Favors, which also comes out today. There’s nothing like celebrating with other writers! Now that I’ve been in the writing/ publishing world for a while, it’s easier to recognize launch day is just one more step on the journey, and after a little celebrating it’s time to get back to work on the next project. That’s the part I love best, anyway—creating something new to share with my readers.
Buried Evidence blurb

Can unearthed bones solve a ten-year-old cold case?
Returning home isn’t easy for forensic anthropologist Laney Hamilton, especially when it means examining bones that could belong to her long-missing best friend—the sister of the man she once loved. But now someone wants Laney dead, and her ex-boyfriend, police sergeant Ryan Mitchell, must shield her. As the predator stalks them, can Laney and Ryan finally uncover the tragic truth about their past?
